The collection consists of clippings, research notes, articles, periodicals, responsa, and pamphlets pertaining to various Jewish topics that were collected by Rabbi Naftali M. Langsam, a teacher of Jewish studies both to children and adults. The bulk of the collection consists of published materials, and pertains to Jewish holidays and Biblical studies, especially Prophets. There are materials pertaining to other types of Jewish literature, such as poetry, and some pertaining to topics such as prayer, important Jewish figures, Antisemitism, Zionism and the State of Israel, Jewish education, and other various aspects of Jewish history. Additionally, there are a number of issues from the 1950s of P'rakim, a monthly program manual for synagogue activity published by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations in America, as well as publications from Zionist youth organizations such as Bnei Akiva. The collection also contains a small amount of unpublished materials, including copies of some Rabbinic responsa on topics such as ritual slaughter of animals and family purity laws, and some correspondence, primarily with Rabbi Shneur Zalman Schneerson regarding a legal dispute arising over remuneration relating to Langsam's employment at SYRIT, a vocational institute that offered training in computers and technology for men.
